Materials

Main fabric: 80% polyamide, 20% elastane

Secondary fabric: 80% polyamide, 20% elastane

The main and secondary fabrics use an identical blend, which matters in a multi-layered construction: both layers stretch to the same degree, so nothing distorts against the other. The polyamide content keeps the pastel tones crisp.

Care

Rinse with cold, clear water soon after wearing
Hand-wash with a mild detergent for delicates, no warmer than 30°C
Press out gently, don't wring
Important with multi-layered bikinis: water sits between the layers far longer than in single-layer styles. Gently separate the layers before drying, otherwise the bikini dries unevenly and can develop water marks
Always dry lying flat in the shade
Don't leave pastel tones sitting in the sun, UV light fades light colors
No tumble dryer, no iron

Manufacturing information

The Ice Cream Waves is handcrafted in Italy. A multi-layered construction is considerably more involved than a single-layer one: every layer has to be cut separately and guided over the others so it falls softly rather than pulling. The white ruffle trim is then laid evenly so it flows rather than bunches.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Ice Cream Waves

What does multi-layered mean on a bikini?

The bikini is built from several layers of fabric sitting on top of each other, rather than a single one. This creates more volume and movement, while the layers also produce a softer transition at the edges.

Why is this style called Ice Cream Waves?

Because the combination of aqua, pink, and white recalls scoops of ice cream, sitting side by side rather than blended. The ruffle trim picks up the wave shape that gives the style the second half of its name.

How easy are pastel colors to care for?

They need a little more attention than bold tones, especially when drying. Direct sunlight fades pastels faster than darker colors, which makes shade particularly important here.
