Materials

Main fabric: 80% polyamide, 20% elastane

The velvet character comes from a short, dense polyamide pile that gives the pink its depth. The elastane content keeps the fabric stretchy, so it feels soft despite the underwire construction.

Care

Rinse with cold, clear water right after your day at the beach or pool
Hand-wash with a mild detergent for delicates, no warmer than 30°C
Press out gently, don't wring
Dry lying flat in the shade
Normal with velvet in bold colors: a few loose pile fibers may come away during the first wash, this isn't a defect. Wash the bikini separately the first few times
Once dry, smooth the pile by hand in a single direction

The Soft Summer Pink Push Up is made by hand in Italy. With velvet, the direction of the pile determines how the color reads, so every piece is cut in the same orientation. The underwire is then fitted individually and has to sit perfectly symmetrically.

Why does pink look different on velvet than on smooth fabric?

The pile breaks light in many small directions instead of reflecting it evenly. This creates lighter and darker zones within the same shade, so the pink reads deeper and less shrill than on a smooth surface.

What does velvet look like when wet?

Wet velvet briefly appears darker and flatter, because the pile lies down. Once the bikini dries, the pile stands back up and the original sheen returns completely.
